Eminem's 'Berzerk' nominated for Grammy, but album isn't eligible
Detroit native Eminem has won 13 Grammys over the years, and is up for one more in January 2014
DETROIT, MI -- The first single from Eminem's latest album is a
nominee for best rap performance, the Grammy Awards announced Friday,
and the song is being used in advertising for the Jan. 26, 2014
ceremony.But the full "Marshall Mathers LP2" isn't eligible for a trophy in the 56th annual show.
The cutoff date for nomination was Sept. 30.
The Detroit-native released his latest album in November.
Meanwhile, another Detroit native, Jack White, is nominated for best rock performance and best music video for his single "I'm Shakin," more than a year after it was released in October 2012.
Eminem has won 13 Grammys since releasing his first major album, "Slim Shady LP" in 1999.
Fellow rapper Jay Z racked up with the most nominations this year with nine, followed by Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis with seven.
